There was probably a castle at Weston Park, Saintbury, in Gloucestershire, possibly dating from the late 11th or early 12th century.
The earthwork remains are on a ridge, overlooking over the surrounding area. They comprise an artificially scarped knoll, possibly the castle’s bailey, about 10 m high, surrounded by a ditch up to 2 m deep, with a 2.7 m high mound, possibly the motte, at the north end. Although we cannot be certain about whether these remains were a castle, the 18th century historian Samuel Rudder noted that the local hundred court was held at this site, reinforcing the theory.
